I'm an art historian, researching & writing
on the history of picture frames, of all periods from the
14th to 20th century. For details of books and articles on

The latest picture frame conference,The Transforming

I'm also an artist, specializing in highly finished coloured
pencil drawings: portraits & caricatures, flower & subject
paintings. I work in oils & acrylic as well, and in watercolour
& pen-&-ink. I have exhibited several times at the
Pastel
Society Annual Exhibition and with the
Society of Botanical Artists .
I take commissions for most types
of artwork: I have designed greetings cards, copied Old Masters,
painted murals, created logos & images for brochures,
& produced all sorts of illustrations. I clean & restore
oil paintings, and have designed three websites in addition
to this one.
I write poetry, have been published in Outposts
and
Agenda , and have won the odd prize.
Most recently I was shortlisted for the
Bridport Prize 2008 (twice), was a
runner-up in the
Leicester Poetry Society Open Competition 2008,
and came second in the
Envoi International Competition 2008.
